Emily Mahon is the former President of Museum Educators of Southern California, Senior Director of Education at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA, creator of the 16 part Teaching Our World Through the World K-12 teacher professional development course at Skirball Cultural Center encouraging confidence in teachers to integrate visual and performing arts in their classrooms, and creator of the Music Center of Los Angeles County’s Student Ambassador Program providing HS students with access to Leadership training and career pathways in the Arts. She is the current Director of Education at the Discovery Center of Idaho. Emily has her degree in Vocal Performance, from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, has performed professionally with the LA Master Chorale, All Saints Episcopal Choir Beverly Hills, Crescendo 5 part jazz harmony group, and multiple regional opera, musical theater, and dabbled for fun with regional theater and minor TV appearances. Emily was born and raised in the Panhandle of Texas. Her husband is an Architect at a local, Boise, firm and they have a 3rd grade daughter and 4th grade son who love gardening in the backyard of their home in the North End of Boise, Idaho.
